Our school bookstore was asked to participate in a pilot for this last fall. Our wireless network was not setup where we could guarantee all devices would show up on the same subnet and Bonjour gateway (Cisco WLCs) did not exist yet. We ended up wiring all the devices. They had to get USB ethernet adapters for some of the Macbooks to make this go, but it worked fine.
