Who is your wireless vendor? I see Aruba has a Vendor Specific Attribute Aruba-Framed-IPv6-Address. That attribute may be returned in the accounting packet.
We only use IPv4 at Liberty University, so I cannot verify this. We will be doing dual-stack assignment and leaving radius as IPV4. This is where the issue comes in. When the client authenticates via radius we get the username, mac address and IPV4 address in the accounting records but not the IPV6 Address. I am wondering how users who deploy IPV6 in a dual stack configuration are tracking the IPV6 address for authentication and accounting? It seems to me that until radius sends back both addresses in the accounting record we are stuck writing a script to fix it. We are considering writing a script that polls the info from either Netflow, The router, or the wireless control system and then adds it into the accounting database. ********** Participation and subscription information for this EDUCAUSE Constituent Group discussion list can be found at http://www.educause.edu/groups/. ********** Participation and subscription information for this EDUCAUSE Constituent Group discussion list can be found at http://www.educause.edu/groups/.
