oh as in they are connected while in the room then they leave and stay
connected and the teacher cannot connect. I guess we'll have to deal with it
on a case by case basis.

What if the student gets connected before the faculty member?

Oh for us it's great....we've wanted this functionality for a long time. If
the ATV is already in use the user cannot kick currently connected user off.

It doesn't really solve anything for us. We still need network access controls
for the devices. You don't wait a student pairing to a classroom ATV in the
middle of class.

Yes, we've tried it and it works great!

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4448

Adds support to allow an AirPlay device to discover Apple TV over Bluetooth in
environments where multicast or Bonjour traffic is blocked on the network or
the AirPlay device is on a different subnet. Requires iOS 7.1 or later on
iPhone 4s or later, iPad (3rd generation or later), iPad mini (1st or 2nd
generation), or iPod touch (5th generation) and Apple TV (3rd generation).

Has anyone tried the Apple TV discovery option with Bluetooth?
