Peter, Each NRO (Nation Roaming Operator) is responsible for inviting its eduroam connectors to the CAT tool (http://cat.eduroam.org) upon their request. In the case of Australia, you can ask to AARNET.
In the US, where Internet2 is the NRO and ANYROAM LLC operates the service on behalf of Internet2, we have about 22 schools out of ~180 that are "linked" to the CAT tool. Send a request to [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> if you want to test it. I believe that the main drawback is the absence of support for Android, but I have heard that it is in the process of being remedied. Our client support manager found it while visiting another institution and asked if I was aware of it, or how we add our institution. It seems fairly intuitive, once you get your institution listed.
