We had built our own discovery method through the Mirror App. You can grab the 
code over at https://github.com/psutlt <https://github.com/psutlt> to build for 
your own institution. We are testing out the bluetooth discovery as well, and 
both have their own advantages. Most the issues we are running into right now 
have been with iOS8 updates affecting both methods. Apple has a lot of bugs to 
fix yet.

Fo the AppleTVs you could restrict whom has access to make changes on it with a 
“parental” code and disable apps you don’t want them to use. We do have several 
AppleTVs on private psu networks, which auto disable these apps, but we have 
been troubleshooting video streaming issues with iOS8. We are starting to see 
that some of the videos want to stream directly to the box, similar to how 
Chromecast works.
