Just a clarification, since I've had a couple people email me directly to ask..
The gathering at the Pearl Street Pizzeria & Pub is impromptu. It's not organized by a vendor or EDUCAUSE and is purely an opportunity for networking folks (or whomever else shows up) to socialize. Did I mention it's informal? .. 7p-ish until whenever and BYO (buy your own...). Personally, I'm hoping to be watching the Mets (but I'll settle for the Cubs if I absolutely have to). -Brian x-posting to NETMAN ________________________________ From: The EDUCAUSE Wireless Issues Constituent Group Listserv [[email protected]] on behalf of Brian Helman [[email protected]] Sent: Friday, October 16, 2015 12:08 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [WIRELESS-LAN] Annual Conference CG Session and pre-conference meet up Everyone: If you are attending the annual conference in ~2 weeks, make sure you attend the NETMAN and Wireless-LAN sessions If you have not attended a regional or national conference before, the CG sessions are a great forum to discuss your wireless/networking issues, questions, successes, failures … with your peers from a diverse geographic and institutional background. These sessions are not formal presentations or lectures. This is an opportunity for all of us to discuss hot topics and issues surrounding our deployments of Wireless networks. To that end, I have looked through the list discussions for the last few months and I’ll be seeding the conversation with those topics. However, if you have a topic that you are particularly interested in discussing, drop me a line and I’ll add it to the list – or just attend the session and speak up. I will keep the discussion within the realm of Wireless Networking, but that’s about the only rule. This seed list is only a starting point, not an agenda. We’ll see where the conversation goes… Wireless-LAN Session: Thursday 10/29 at 8a in Meeting Room 136-137 NETMAN Session: Friday 10/30 at 8a in Meeting Room 136-137 And a reminder, there is a First-Timer Pit Stop in the Hoosier Lobby for the newbs, and everyone is welcomed in the Community Lounge (Meeting Room 143-145) for informal, impromptu discussions. If you will be in Indy for Tuesday night, there is an informal gathering at the Pearl Street Pizzeria and Pub. Stop in and talk networking or sports. I’ll be there for duration of Game 1 of the World Series or until they ask me to leave. Let’s Go Mets! http://www.pearlstreetpizzeria.com/ I’ll be x-posting a similar message to the NETMAN list shortly. -Brian [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> ____________________________________ Brian Helman, M.Ed | Director, ITS/Networking Services | •: 978.542.7272 Salem State University, 352 Lafayette St., Salem Massachusetts 01970 GPS: 42.502129, -70.894779 ********** Participation and subscription information for this EDUCAUSE Constituent Group discussion list can be found at http://www.educause.edu/groups/. ********** Participation and subscription information for this EDUCAUSE Constituent Group discussion list can be found at http://www.educause.edu/groups/.
