Everyone: If you are attending the NERCOMP Conference next week, I'd like to make sure you are aware of the Network Management session on Wednesday 3/23 at 1:30p. The Agenda lists us at "Network Management Constituent Group [Constituent Group]", but we will also discuss wireless networking if the attendees like. I'm going to try something new this year and spend the first 10-15 minutes demo'ing the JDSU OLP-82P fiber power meter and microscope. Please note, I'm demo'ing how the capabilities of this unit are useful to us. There are competing products that perform the same/similar functions. I recommend whatever you can afford. The functions are indispensable whether it's JDSU, Fluke or someone else! http://www.educause.edu/events/nercomp-annual-conference/agenda#schedule-tab-4
Also, if you are attending the Miami Connect event, there is a roundtable on Thursday (4/7) afternoon. I do not think I'm going to demo the JDSU unit in Miami, but I haven't fully decided (I'm driving to Providence, so I'm not as concerned about what I'm carrying). I'm also hoping to have an informal meet-up at a local bar one of the nights. I will send more information about that next week. If anyone lives/frequents the area around the conference center and knows of a good (ie relatively safe) dive-bar, let me know. http://www.educause.edu/events/educause-connect-miami/agenda -Brian (cross-posted to NETMAN CG list) ____________________________________ Brian Helman, M.Ed | Director, ITS/Networking Services | *: 978.542.7272 Salem State University, 352 Lafayette St., Salem Massachusetts 01970 GPS: 42.502129, -70.894779 ********** Participation and subscription information for this EDUCAUSE Constituent Group discussion list can be found at http://www.educause.edu/groups/.
