Sorry everyone, I'm a little behind schedule this week. I just wanted to get one last email out before the Annual Conference starts next week.
This year, the Wireless-LAN group and NETMAN have coordinated sessions to give a (hopefully) consistent presentation/discussion. We have poured over the listserv conversations since last year's conference in Indianapolis and created two surveys (one for each CG) to parse what people would like to talk about. I am sent this same email to the NETMAN group, so I'm including both surveys here. If you are not a member of Wireless-LAN, you should consider it. There is some, but not a great deal of overlapping discussion. The session is in Meeting Room 202 A/B on Level Two. We hope to see many of you there. Mike and I lobbied to get the last slot of the day, so conversations will not be limited to the scheduled time slot. From experience, I can tell you they often go hours after the session formally ends. For those who are interested, I will be demonstrating the JDSU fiber scope after the formal session ends The Wireless-LAN session is at 8a on Friday (10/28). Ryan Turner (University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill) and I will be leading that session. I know it's early and get-away day, but the Wireless session is always lively. This session is in Meeting Room 210, on Level Two. For first-timers to the conference, check out the First Timers' Commons. It is in the Lobby on Level Two. Please look at the EDUCAUSE Conference website for more details. There is a Community Lounge in Meeting Room 205A/B on Level Two. This is an informal space. If you'd like to meet up with other Network/Wireless Network people, send a message to this list. If you DM me on Twitter (@BrianHelman) I'll tweet it out too. Last year, several of us met at a local bar on Tuesday (and Wednesday .. and Thursday ;) ) nights. I've looked around and it's kind of slim pickings. I did find quite a few people talking about the bar, Mi Casita, at the Anaheim Plaza Hotel .. which is just a block from the Convention Center. I will be there Tuesday night to watch Game 1 of the World Series and socialize. I hope to see many of you at the conference. Safe travels! Lastly, a special thanks to Ryan Turner for his hard work on getting the survey's together. -Brian ____________________________________ Brian Helman, M.Ed | Director, ITS/Networking Services | *: 978.542.7272 Salem State University, 352 Lafayette St., Salem Massachusetts 01970 GPS: 42.502129, -70.894779 ********** Participation and subscription information for this EDUCAUSE Constituent Group discussion list can be found at http://www.educause.edu/groups/.
