To ALL,
We are currently an Aruba shop. We use a combination of Nat, Vlan pools,
large subnets, and airgroup. We break
our wireless network up into 3 controller groups that are geographically
separate. In each one, On our main ssid's we
have a vlan pool of 8 /21 subnets doing 8 to 1 NAT. We have a non NAT ssid with
/22 subnets. We use airgroup to allow
the sharing in between subnets. We have bounced back and forth on subnet size,
We started out small but kept on going
up as we grew. I don't see us ever going down to one subnet so vlan pooling
will always be in play. We just recently
moved to Deterministic NAT and have been happy with it so far. It allowed us
to go slightly larger on the subnets (to
get contigious space). You can roam within a controller group but not in
between. But since there is physical
separation no one expects to roam in between. Normally this break down to
roaming within a building but not if you walk
outside. We do not have any "really large venues yet (stadiums) but I would do
it the same.
