I'm trying to boost a signal from my DSL connection to my house, which
is a about 300 feet away from my router and main Linksys WAP 11 version
2.2. When I carry my laptop up to the house, the signal is weak and
drops out a lot as I walk around.
It seems strongest near the windows facing the building where the WAP 11
is located. I've tried putting a second WAP 11 verson 2.2 in the window
of the house. The second WAP 11 unit is configured in client mode, but
the signal is still weak..
I've also been told an antenna might boost the signal enough to carry it
up to the house. I've visted the hyperlinktech.com Web site, and I'm
wondering if the Plug and Play antenna kit would work for me. I saw a
14dBi Patch Antenna kit that looks like it would attach to a wall facing
the house. Has anyone out there tried this antenna. Could I expect to
get decent signal gain at the house?
Thanks,
T.H. Clemens
