As I remember it, DeLorme messes with the serial output of the EarthMate GPS
Upon bootup it is in proprietary Rockwell mode as opposed to industry standard NMEA mode which NetStumbler needs. There is a simple fix, and that is to spit a so-called 'hidden' keyword down the serial port to the TripMate, this turns it into an NMEA mode unit. I'm Trying to remember the word. It was something like *astral. Do a Google search for it. Does anyone know of a product that would support the use of the Earthmate?
