The deal is that some vendors seem to have a supply of AirPort cards with the 1.0 firmware in them that they're selling for $50. In fact, these cards can be fully flashed to the 2.0 (128-bit WEP, etc.) software just by downloading Apple's AirPort updater and installing it with the card in the machine. -- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Glenn Fleishman, Unsolicited Pundit: read my work at http://glennf.com freelance journalist for Wired, New York Times, Seattle Weekly, et al Practical Mac columnist, Seattle Times http://seattletimes.com/ptech/ interested in wireless 802.11b networking? http://80211b.weblogger.com I live in Seattle, WA.
