Hello,

I was wondering if anyone else experienced similar problems with the
following configuration:
- Windows XP Professional,
- Orinoco Gold card,
- WAP 11 version 2.2,
- WEP 128-bit.

First of all, the same configuration works flawlessly on Windows 2000
(another laptop on my network). However when I use my laptop, it tends to
work some. I can visit a few websites, but it gets stuck with others. When I
try to access files across network from my home server (W2000), network
connection suddenly freezes. I cannot access Outlook for my office email -
Outlook starts, shows list of emails as usually, but hangs whenever I double
click on any email to view its contents. The only help is a reset for WAP11.
It obviously cannot be wrong encryption key (the one for Orinoco card
different from the one in access point), because the 2nd laptop has
identical configuration - Orinoco Gold, WEP settings, encryption key - and
it works all of the time. My laptop with XP works for some activities, but
hangs on the others. My solution is to use network "wire" with integrated
NIC, but I think I should not be forced to sacrifice security (WEP-128bit is
better than no security at all) over convenience of wireless.

Any advice? Thank you in advance.

Best regards,
Peter
