|Obviously if it's a non-beaconing network that has no data traffic, it's not
|putting anything into the airwaves and NOTHING is going to see it.

Can someone explain how non-beaconing networks work? Do they never beacon
or do they beacon as long as there is at least one client? If the former,
do all clients understand that they can't use missed beacons as an prompt
to re-scan? Which access points support non-beaconing operation? Do all
clients understand it? Obviously they couldn't use passive scanning for
either the initial association or for roaming.
