I just got an Orinoco gold card and set it up fine on win 98. I got really stupid on my Windows 2000 install. I did read the little insert on win 2k but somehow i didn't let the install complete and wound up with the bad driver install in win2k. I still havent figured out how to reverse this mess.
I have tried the WPC11 the Compaq wl100 the Linksys USB adapter and the Orinoco they all work fine on two different WAP11's. The USB client software from Linksys has a site survey similar to the Orinoco card but neither the wpc11 or the Compaq have this feature. The other differences are the only adapter of this bunch with an external antenna connector is the Orinoco, and it seems to have a plastic plug stuck into it. I'm a little afraid to just punch it out, any suggestions? -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Jim Aspinwall Sent: Sunday, June 02, 2002 9:28 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [BAWUG] Orinoco Gold talking to LinkSys WAP11 - ?? Experimenting with a couple of cards and APs. WPC11 works with WAP11 just fine. Same channel, SSID/ESSID same/discovered OK. Orinico card 'sees' and apparently 'connects' to WAP11 but unable to PING, etc. Same PC/laptop - Windows XP.
