Wlanexpert (on a prism2 card) is a very useful tool for scanning each channel for the best signal:noise ratio. > if he disabled broadcasting he'd be even more invisible! Depends which survey tool you use. Sniffing raw frames you'd see someone with a DSSS 802.11b in the way even without broadcast. Though there are of course other possibilities, like FHSS, video senders, etc.etc. which wouldn't show up that way (but presumably would affect the RSSI). Interference is, of course, one of the things you just have to live with or work around if you're using unlicensed spectrum. You could always try a big parabolic dish to cut down the field of view (along with any associated reduction in amplification required to stay legal)... -- general wireless list, a bawug thing <http://www.bawug.org/> [un]subscribe: http://lists.bawug.org/mailman/listinfo/wireless
