Hi Joseph,

I have a iPaq 3870. I got a LANEscpae/XI-825 CF Card (802.11b). I
originally ordered it because they had a picture of it online and it was
silver, so it matched the color scheme of the iPaq. Unfortunately when I
got it, it was black.

I was a little disappointed since the card had the original Prism chips, and
there are cards with the newer Prisim 2 chipsets. BUT it turns out that the
card is GREAT. I love the fact that it autodetects the SSID, and of course
it acts as a DHCP client. The range is great, I have gone as far as 300
feet, with a great signal level. I was living in a 2 story house about 2000
sq.ft., and I got a signal all over the place, even in the garage. I haven't
had any intereference, but once in a while I do have to soft reset the iPaq
in order for it to detect the CF card if it has not been inserted for
awhile.

Just to note, I am using a SMC 7004AWBR Barricade wireless router, and I'm
not sure how different the signal levels would be with different AP's.

Browsing the web on the iPaq is "ok", but it's better if you stick to
websites designed for small screens (mobile devices).

I hope this was helpful, let me know if you have any questions.

Tariq Ali.
