BT is pursuing this. --jack The UK has overturned regulations that banned companies from using wireless local area networks (WLAN) to provide commercial Internet services. Commercial operators, as of July 31, will be allowed to provide public services, such as establishing wireless Internet service, without a Wireless Telegraphy Act license. Laptop and handheld computer users with an 802.11b network card will soon be able to access the Internet and email in locations nationwide, including cafes, hotels and airports.
