We are based just short of the entrance of the Hunters Point Naval shipyards in SF and have a great view of downtown / SOMA across the bay.
So I'm thinking of the studio as being a potentially great relay point and providing wireless access to the Projects behind us as an outreach public service ( the only housing around here) . We are hemmed in by the hunters point hill ( not sure of official name ) but looking out we can really access downtown SOMA and third st corridor. Basically we are down the street from the PG and E generating facility aka the big toxic smoke stack by the bay . Our address is 410 Innes. Drop and by tonight for the wine party ( bring a bottle, it is an artist based party after all ) for our 5th anniversary and check out the view. Which I think has incredible possibilities. We also will be offering free welding classes for an upcoming Burning Man project. so if need to learn to weld for your antennae placement we may be the place. We also have a CNC based Plasma Cutter. Photos of our view and the wireless possibilities will soon be available. kevin 5th anniversary celebration at Headless Point studio Dan Das Mann is having a big party this Fri to celebrate his 5th anniversary of the studio, the new expansion plans, and to kick off a few new big projects for bman and more. This year the project will be the Last Stand and the Iceberg. The Last Stand is a metal garden of 2d pieces from submitted diagrams and illustrations enclosed in a double barb wire fence. The submission process will be announced on Friday, as well the semi-annual free welding classes at the studio and other volunteer options to make the Last Stand possible. The Iceberg's 2200 sq feet ( a floating theme camp) will be thundering across the playa, quite possibly interfering with any titanic marauding pirates ships plans.
