I have a BEFW11S4 V.2 (firmware 1.43) Router and a WAP-11 V.2.2 (firmware 1.01c) plugged into one of the four ports to extend the range.  The router is Channel 1 and the WAP-11 is Channel 6.  The two units are 100 feet apart, but within range of each other.

If I start-up my Sony PCG-SRX87G laptop with built-in Orinoco wireless and it registers just fine with the WAP-11.  I can then seamlessly roam to the BEFW11S4 with no problem. The problem is when I leave the BEFW11S4 and try to register with the WAP-11 again.  It will refuse to register back into the WAP-11.

Using NetStumbler to monitor the wireless network activity, I can see that it tries to register to the WAP-11 but a second later BOTH wireless signals disappear (reset?) for two seconds.  This cycle repeats endlessly roughly every four seconds. If I disable the Wireless unit in the BEFW11S4 (using the config page) the laptop STILL does not register with the WAP-11 and I have NO connection.

For some reason the WAP-11 is resetting itself.  What would trigger a reset in a WAP-11?  What possible conflicts can there be?  I have used three different and brand new WAP-11s, and two different and brand new BEFW11S4s.

In addition, my wireless laptop losses it's ability to reach (or ping) the Wireless Print Server (WPS-11).  I can fix this by simply visiting the configuration page for the router (192.168.1.1).  This problem does not occur AT ALL if I unplug the WAP-11 and use only the BEFW11S4.

I have tried unplugging the WPS-11 and still can roam back and forth.  I have also tried unplugging my 2.4 GHz cordless phone.

I am willing to send you my first child if you have any insight to this problem.  Is there anyone in Los Angeles whom I can pay to figure this one out?
