Where can I find the PowerLine Networking Standard?

I mean how does the HomePlug.org ensure that PowerLine
products from different vendors are interopable?

Whatever information I have been able to search on the
web so far is pretty non-technical.  Perhaps, you can
point me a URL or two, on which I can find some
technical details about this technology..
