The Wired magazine article "Unplugged U" is a very good read. It explains how the network at Dartmouth College works and how the students there use it at all times of the day.
The article can be found in the October issue of Wired. Here is a correct link for the article: http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/10.10/dartmouth.html?pg=1&topic=&topic_se t= The article is written like a journal or chronology of events but also includes explanations for the wireless network. The author took a trip there expressly to learn about the network and write this article. (I bought the magazine yesterday and it was my bedtime reading.)
