Here is a handy trip planner if you don't take public transit often (or even if you do). It integrates schedules for most bay area transit authorities and spits out a route.http://www.transitinfo.org/cgi-bin/taketransit
In order to make this post more topical, last night I was running Kismet (wireless LAN sniffer) on my Sharp Zaurus (linux handheld) while waiting for the bus in downtown San Francisco. I didn't pick anything up at first, but then an access point came into view--RTA--and disappeared as quickly. This happened just as a bus rushed by. I immediately thought, "Rapid Transit Authority?" I was about ready to dismiss the notion when it happened again: bus comes by, access point in view, bus disappears, access point disappears. I didn't catch what kind of bus it was, but I think it was GGT. What could they be doing with wireless networking on their buses? Think it is related to some kind of automated schedule-keeping mechanism? Or maybe it is NextBus related. zm >>Re: Meeting: October 24 @ 7pm > > As far as driving, I'd recommend public transit instead.
