Sorry. more in the bottom Hello All,
http://www.cs.umd.edu/~mvanopst/8021x/howto/ I did follow these steps and successfully build the Radius server in my Win2K server, Client WinXP with 802.11b(non-Cisco card, Agere Chipset), and Cisco 350 AP. The problem I am having is I could not get my WinXP station obtain an IP address. 1: The bottom page of the http://www.cs.umd.edu/~mvanopst/8021x/howto/ap.html Should I enter 12345 in Encryption Key and Select Size 40-bit 2: In WinXP station, Network connection I see the 802.11b with Red Cross. and cmd prompt ipconfig/all indicates: Media State: Media Disconnected Descrip: Card brand and Model Physical Address: MAC address ---nothing else --- I did try both leave this WEP Not Set and Set to 40bit with 12345. But still no luck on either one. Is there any one of you were successfully with these steps, and found it working please? -----More ---- In WinXP Wireless Network Prop, with SSID: (let say - abcde) and set no WEP key, then register to AP, a: In WinXP station, Network connection I see the 802.11b with Red Question Mark. and cmd prompt ipconfig/all indicates: Descrip: Card brand and Model Physical Address: MAC address DHCP Enabled: yes Autoconf enabled: yes IP: 169.254.xxx.xxx Subnet Mask: 255.255.0.0 Default Gateway: blank b: The bottom right, indicates: Windows was unable to find a certificate to log you on the network wireless. ( I did install the certificate on this system, I think the reason cause this because, I did not use the WEP and not checked "the key is provided for me automatically) ---------- Thanks, Stefano Y __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
