Haven't actually read it yet, but I'm pretty sure it's not a replacement for WEP, just a few added features that will make WEP less prone to attack (using 802.1X dynamic session keys and TKIP). The real replacement for WEP is AES (along with other niceties 802.11i is working on), but that requires a significant hardware change (current hardware is not powerful enough to support it), so that will probably come later on.
Jacques.

The Wi-Fi Alliance (WECA) just announced this replacement for WEP. They're positioning it as an interim solution until 802.11i is finalized. It includes some pretty nice features, TKIP, 802.1x and EAP, and a PSK home mode that will require minimal configuration and no authentication server. Looks like this could be the end of WEP.http:/ /www.wi-fi.com/OpenSection/ReleaseDisplay.asp?ItemID=118 __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
