As for outdoor antennas, these have been made for some time for
HAMs to be a bit more stealthy in their housing developments.
Typically they look like roof vents.  The Ventanna (www.ventenna.com)
is an example.  They only make antennas that do up to 1.3GHz so
they don't cover 2.4GHz.  But it may give ideas on how to do your
own. :-)

For indoors, how about putting a Lucent RangeExtender inside a base
of a table lamp?  Just make sure the lamp base is RF transparent.
