We have batteries capable of five days plus if the solar panels are
disconnected. But the snow seems to melt off the panels and other areas of
direct sunlight rather quickly 2-3 days (but that is in san diego, not
Minnesota).

If we didn't have the batteries we would be out of luck at night anway.
