Dear wireless friends,

I work for a nonprofit organization, CompuMentor, located in San Francisco. We provide technical assistance and services to Bay Area nonprofits and public schools. My area of work is mostly with the Oakland public schools (and you may have heard what a sad situation they are in!). The way we make technical assistance affordable for schools is to find technically skilled volunteers to be "mentors" for teachers and computer lab managers to help solve technical problems.

Quite a few schools are using wireless networking as an adjunct to their Ethernet LANs, especially for the Portable classrooms, so we are increasingly looking for volunteers with wireless skills. At one particular middle school, they need help is setting up a couple of Airports for their new iBook lab.

Therefore I am writing to invite you to join our team of volunteers and sign up at the CompuMentor website:

Many thanks,
Hilary
