Of course the preferred database for freenetworks.org is www.nodedb.com - be sure to list yourself there too.We've been here before. It would still be nice to have at least one and preferably two or three hotspot DBs that were reasonably complete and contained both for-profit and not-for-profit WiFi Internet access hotspots.
Interesting to see Glenn suggest that maybe we need an RSS (or FOAF, or SMBData) style XML format so that owners could self publish and building the db would involve writing a spider rather than entering the data by hand. Unfortunately I just can't imagine the BigCos playing along with this. And I can't imagine the community agreeing on the format fast enough. But if efforts like GeoURL can get off the ground why not this?
