Take a look at http://www.WiFiMaps.com -- we're doing the same
thing, pretty much, in a distributed fashion. Wardrivers contribute their
scans, and we interpolate the data into a rough coverage area, and draw
detailed maps for the US. There's searching features for City, Zip, MAC,
or SSID. We have more features planned, but those don't seem to be inline
with your query here.
