WCA Meeting this month is "What's Hot (and What's Not) in Wireless!"

Note Date and Location Change!!!!!!!!!!

Date: Wednesday, February 26, 2003
Time: 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM.
Location: San Jose Convention Center. As in the past, WCA is co-locating
this meeting at the Wireless Systems Design Conference and Expo 2003, with
an exciting panel discussion.

What's Hot (and What's Not) in Wireless VC Panel

The February 2003 WCA meeting will feature, as it has in past years, a panel
of wired-in investors discussing "What's Hot (and What's Not) in Wireless"
on Wednesday February 26 (5:00 to 7:00 PM) at the Wireless Systems Design
Conference and Expo 2003 held at the San Jose Convention Center. This
newsworthy meeting will address trends in the wireless industry and identify
the market segments that have the interest of the panelists (and those that
do not). Start-ups and Fortune 500 companies would do well to take heed of
the informed attitudes and expert opinions expressed by these influential
speakers, chosen for their reputation as bell weathers in the wireless
industry -- and attendees have been going home with some stock tips to boot!

Moderator:
Robin Murray, General Partner, 3i

The panel includes:
Eric Copeland, General Partner, Venrock Associates
Dale Pfau, Managing Director for Wireless Components and
Infrastructure/Wireless Internet, CIBC World Markets
Wes Raffel, General Partner, Advanced Technology Ventures, Inc.
Ron Reich, Director of Strategic Investment in Broadband and Wireless
Networking, Intel Capital
Roland Van der Meer, Partner, ComVentures

Attendees will also be admitted to the exhibits at Penton's Wireless Systems
Design Expo 2003 free of charge.

WCA is a nonprofit corporation dedicated to the mutual benefit of Northern
California companies and organizations involved in wireless communication
technologies.

Future WCA Events

March 18th meeting, WCA has planned two presentations in the WiFi technology
area:

Vivato will describe their phased-array radio antennas to create highly
directed, narrow beams of Wi-Fi transmissions. According to Vivato this
technology enables outdoor switches to support outdoor Wi-Fi client devices
up to seven kilometers away or indoor Wi-Fi clients within a two-kilometer
radius from the switch.

Symbol will describe their WLAN VoIP product that operates over 802.11. This
WLAN technology, though widely available, was not designed to support
wireless telephony. Symbol will explain how they are addressing this
technical challenge.

Plan to join us on March 18th for what promises to be two very interesting
talks.
