Subject: [BAWUG] looking for East Bay peering partner

Howdy,

I live near the crest of a small hill in the Richmond Annex, an East Bay
neighborhood near El Cerrito Plaza, just off the Central Exit to I-80.
This hill is the small hill just north of Albany Hill.

I'm encountering frequent DSL difficulties (I'm 14,200 feet from the CO)
and would like to avoid buying net access from Comcast b/c I really
don't
like their terms of service.

I'd love to find somebody with LOS to my house that I could get internet
access from. I have a view of a large portion of the Berkeley/El
Cerrito
hills, and can probably get LOS into downtown berkeley if I erect a
tower
of some kind.

I'm not sure how realistic this is-- it may end up being a lot of
trouble
for something less reliable than my DSL, but it sure feels like the
right
thing to do. Is anybody on this list located correctly to set up a
link?

best regards,
 -john.
