I would like to track down a rogue access point on our network at work. Problem is that it's running WEP and I can't associate with it so both /proc/net/wireless and iwconfig don't give me signal strength information. I have a laptop and and a highly directional antenna, and could narrow this down to a small area if I could get signal strength information out of Linux. Does anyone know how to do this when you're not associated?
