Networking/Linux SQA Engineer
Job duties
a.. Develop and execute product test plans
b.. Discover and report product defects
c.. Assist in reproduction, documentation, and resolution of product defects
d.. Develop automated test environment
e.. Create and build networking test beds and network test topologies for software networking products
Essential Skills
a.. Proven experience as a SQA engineer involving job duties as described above, for a minimum for 3 years
b.. Strong scripting and automation skills using C/TCL/Perl.
c.. Extensive experience in building test suites and test beds for networking products based on embedded BSD-derived operating systems (Linux is preferable)
d.. Ability to complete projects autonomously and work with a team, highly motivated, quick learning.
e.. Excellent understanding of networking TCP/IP stack.
f.. Good understanding of hardware and computer architecture.
g.. Deep understanding of the role of QA in the whole product development process.
h.. Strong technical written and verbal communication in English.
Desired Skills
a.. Knowledge of and experience with Linux and the Linux kernel.
b.. Experience with makefiles, autoconf, bash, gcc, binutils etc.
c.. Experience developing and/or using 802.11 networks.
d.. Good understanding of networking security concepts, protocols and technologies.
Team-working Attributes
a.. Evidence of initiative taking as well as strong team working.
b.. Able to take ownership and responsibility of significant project areas.
Educational Requirement
a.. Computer science degree or equivalent (e.g. electrical engineering, physics, math) is a plus.
