Forget about the upset about the GPL for the moment ... this could be 
totally awesome! If we could have our own firmware on a linksys unit, 
we could do all kinds of great stuff for cheap without needing to have 
an actual PC that is hard to fit inside a weatherproof box on the top 
of the mast...

Like, if someone would just add the long-distance timing code to the 
linksys that would be sweet...
