Check out the truck stops.  Seems many of them are installing
802.11 APs to get folks to stop there.

I thought of that too but they're not usually free. They are generally reasonably priced though and the convenience may be worth the cost.

Flying J (http://flyingj.com/) has the only web site that advertises
wireless access (http://www.tonservices.com/hisp_home.htm) but I've
heard that other truck stops... Love's, Pilot and TA may have wireless
also, at least in some of their locations.
