I should have caught the "AP starts at $5k." Actually, it lists for $2,995, so it should run you about $2,000.

You can try the 900 Mhz stuff Alvarian is putting out. I talked to a lady there about 6 weeks ago and she said it would be out soon. www.alvarion-usa.com She was suppose to send me a price list, but she never got around to doing it. Go figure.

 

It's pretty pricey stuff from what she was quoting me. But it can shoot thru some trees and get you bandwidth to where you couldn't with 2.4Ghz (no LOS). I think the CPE was like $700 and the AP starts at $5k.

I am looking for info on 900 MHz. equipment for use in a forested area.  Any leads would be appreciated.  Also is that coverage mapping program available?  Enjoyed the meeting.
