Indeed, I'm using a SL-2511SR Plus which is basically a SL2511 AP Pro Plus with a print server. > Any chance your pigtail is messed-up? I'm not using a normal pigtail. The antenna is one of those Hyperlink Technologies deals with a MMCX connector on the cable. The WLan Expert program says the SWR on the antenna rates it as "excellent." > Also, with a 14dBi antenna, the signal could be coming from far off > your property. I would expect to see some directionality if it was offsite. My suspicion is that it is the 266 Mhz laptop's fault. If I'm right, then, I wonder if it's possible to approach the sensitibity limits with standard equipment. I'm sure a Soekris box must put out some jamming power at 2.4 Ghz. So far my tests indicated that the minimum sensitivity is near -67 dBm as registered by WLan expert. Has anyone else made similar measurements? > What happens if you use an antenna with less gain? It will take me awhile to source another antenna but in the mean time I will try moving the setup 14 miles away to see if it's my site. -- general wireless list, a bawug thing <http://www.bawug.org/> [un]subscribe: http://lists.bawug.org/mailman/listinfo/wireless
