hello - I recently moved back to SF and am psyched on
the wifi community here. Unfortunately, I live in an
area where there are no clear hotspots.

I would appreciate any suggestions on how I might
improve my range, etc. Here is my current config:

XP Home Desktop using MS-USB 802.11b wireless adaptor
W2K notebook using Xircom 802.11b PCMCIA card
SMC Barricade 802.11b wireless router (SMC7004WBR)
I also have a Senao SL-2511CD Plus 200mW card which
really doesn't help me much (is there a way to connect
an antenna to this?)

I have two neighbors that have Airports and another
two with unknown APs. The one with the best range is
a WEP-enabled Airport, of which I met the owner and he
is willing to share his connection with me. The
problem is that the signal is pretty weak.

I would greatly appreciate it if someone would provide
me with suggestions on how to improve my reception.
Either by extending the range of my current adaptors
or the Barricade or otherwise. I am pretty handy, I
just need a bit of a kickstart.

Thanks in advance!
Drew
