All,

This has been mentioned before (at least below), but I just came across it and thought it may be worth repeating.

Disabling Windows wireless zero configuration service is a wonderful idea.

I don't personally endorse Windoze, but recently had to deal with several desktop systems using XP, 2000, and ME and LanReady PCI cards. The displayed the highly annoying behavior of having a 95% signal strength and then no signal at all, about 30 times per minute; and not running LanReady's wireless config utility.

I was about to blame this on the LanReady cards when I rebooted them into safe mode with networking and discovered everything worked fine. A short time later I disabled WZC and everything was fine.

All of this could be avoided by not running Windoze, of course, but for those that have to deal with it...

Cheers,

John

Well I found a FIX....
I forced the install of the Windows 2000 Driver on XP instead of the XP
drivers.
I also disabled the zero configuration service.

 NO MORE CONNECTION RESETS.
 Data transfer seems much smoother.

Subject: [BAWUG] Weird Behavior with ipaq USB and WAP11 with XP

The connection between the ipaq wireless usb adapter and the WAP11 seems good except....

Once every minute and 3 seconds the connection resets.
This only happens with PC's running windows XP.
Another machine running windows 2000 and the same adapter is fine.

Here is the log from the WAP 11.

ANY IDEAS???
