Not a bad story, but not entirely accurate either.. The drive that
crashed was in the relay PC. It is an IBM microdrive, and it crashed
because of the unclean power cycles we had to do, in order to get the
power to the pc running properly. (The electrical engineer on the tree
needed to wire the solar panels through a converter of sorts and the
testing required the pc to be started and shutdown repeatedly..
unfortunately they didn't take the drive out)

I used a copy of the village pc's microdrive and converted it to become
the relay pc.
