Avoid channel 1 as it is the only channel hams are really doing anything on (Oscar 40's downlink is in that area). They have priority over part 15 traffic.
Also avoid "default channels". I think the most common are channel 6, channel 1 and?? I tend to put stuff on channel's 7-11 for the most part.
