Yes, check out an easy homebrew solution:

1) Use a mini-itx motherboard and case:

2) Install ipcop:

3) Done!

IPCop is the easiest and quickest firewall distro I have seen. It supports USB modems. I'm using it now, has a great feature set. Took me all of 10 minutes to install and get running.

Oops, no linux support for Efficient Networks / Speedstream 4060 USB Modem. Out of luck there.

Subject: Re: [BAWUG] Are there USB/non-Ethernet Access Points available?

As far as I know, any USB modem (DSL, Cable, or Sat) cannot be
directly connected to a wireless router. Their might be a router out
there somewhere that can do this but I haven't heard of it. I believe
that 50% of the reasoning behind going to a USB interface instead
of Ethernet was to discourage broadband sharing. The other 50%
is probably because not all motherboards have Ethernet built-in
but do have USB.

If you have an extra computer with both Ethernet and USB you can
set it up to become a router. It can route the internet from the USB
DSL modem through the Ethernet port and then to your wireless
access point / router.

The problem is, I now want to go wireless but it seems all the access points/routers use Ethernet to connect to the modem NOT USB.

Are there any Access Points/Routers that can hook up to a DSL Modem via USB? Or, do I need to buy a new DSL Modem with an Ethernet connection to go wireless.

802.11 b or g is fine.

Thanks in advance!
