I have a Linksys WET-11 v1 I'm using to connect to a D-Link AP that exists in another building in my apartment complex. Based on the length of the factory antenna I guess it is a 5 dbi antenna.
I can get a signal from the D-Link but its weak and disappears often. Can anyone recommend an antenna that will get me a better signal? Should I go for a directional or omni? What dbi gain? I'm not sure exactly which direction to point the directional but I figure I could find it by trial and error. Will a directional work indoors? I was recommended this antenna by a technician at hdcom.com: http://www.hdcom.com/bundles.html#HD19654 I was recommended this by the sales guy at another site: http://www.wisp-router.com/product_info.php?cPath=43_46&products_id=152 I've also read one post by a bawug user who said he had good luck with a 8 dbi omni on his WET11 but didn't say which one he bought. Any help is greatly appreciated. Tony -- general wireless list, a bawug thing <http://www.bawug.org/> [un]subscribe: http://lists.bawug.org/mailman/listinfo/wireless
