Aironet cards have a "repeater" mode where they act both as a (stub) access
point and as a client to another access point. Aironet bridges and access
points normally use this mode to implement non-root operation. Although this
"normal" use is in a bridged configuration I suspect (but don't know for sure)
that the packets flow through the host, i.e., the card isn't forwarding between
its clients and its parent access point. Thus you should be able to treat the
two aspects as two virtual interfaces and route/NAT/whatever between them. If
someone has done a host AP mode driver for Aironet you might try changing the
mode to repeater and observing the hybrid operation of the card. If no such
driver yet exists you would probably have to do a lot of work...
