If I understand it correctly: Vivato was able to get classified as a point-to-point system and therefore doesn't have to stick to the 36 limit. Each Vivato panel contains an array of radios and antennas that can transmit a directional signal at a specific client (hence PtP).
I'm sure someone else on the list can clarify if I misstated any of this.
