Well, I have been doing IT stuff for my office for a while, but now me and
several other owners in our condo association are organizing association backed
wireless interenet service for our residents. We will be giving people access
for like $15-$20 a month and everything will be run on volunteer basis, no
access to the network by non-residents.

So here is our situation. Condos are in two 5 floor buildings with 45 condos on
each side of the building (90 total in each building), we estimate we will have
20 people to start with and probably 50 at most (unless people get amazed by
price and go nuts for it).
Those two buildings have a courtyard in between.
I was thinking about placing access points outside on light poles in following
manner:

___Street___________________________

     AP1

| Building South |

     AP3

Here are my questions:
1. How do we interconnect AP1/2/3 without cables without sacrificing bandwidth?
Though DSL circuit(s) will probably end up being 6Mb total (if capacity
requires, we will just give each AP its own DSL), we do need to think about
possible success.
2. What is the cheapest way to do this. Using D-link hardware would probably
cost us about 4K plus our sweat. Hardware made by DemarcTech.com is a bit
cheaper with more features. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
3. Security. How do we deal with non-encrypted traffic. Do we just let residents
worry about their security like most universities do?
