Whither WiMAX?, by Intel's Margaret LaBrecque, President, WiMAX Forum

WiMax is being touted by some as the answer to fixed and mobile Broadband
Wireless Access and condemned by others as a solution with no market.
Intel's Margaret LaBrecque, President of the WiMAX Forum, sorts out fact
from fiction when she compares 802.16 to other wireless solutions like
Wi-Fi, 3G, and proprietary MAN, describes today's market segments
addressable by WiMAX and how they will evolve, and speaks of the rollout of
products to serve these markets over the next 3 years.

Cellular/WiFi Convergence: Enabling the next growth phase in the mobile
industry, by Ken Kolderup, VP Mktg, Kineto Wireless

As mobile subscriber penetration reaches saturation, mobile carriers are
scrambling to identify their next major source of revenue growth. By far,
their largest opportunity is in convincing subscribers to begin using their
mobile phone as their main phone not only when away, but at home and the
office as well. When surveyed, more than 50% of subscribers are looking to
make this transistion but do not because of quality and cost concerns
relative to landline voice services. Now, with the upcoming availability of
Mobile over WLAN solutions, carriers will be able to address subscriber cost
and performance concerns and accelerate the shift toward mobile service.
This presentation describes the market, the products, business model and
timeline for the introduction of Mobile over WLAN services.
WCA is a nonprofit corporation dedicated to the mutual benefit of Northern
