I'm living on a hill by Tamalpais High School, just got into the first
floor of a house here after moving from Seattle almost two weeks ago. There
was an open AP with about a 1mb dl speed that I was using to listen to some
radio streams(128k), though the owner must have taken offense as now it's
got WEP enabled. I can see almost a dozen Aps from my location, a few of
which are open, they seem to be to far away to connect to & even if I could
I have no clue as to whether the owner of the AP would like to share or not.

I need internet access & planned to get my own anyway. I figured I'd
ask on the list for opinions on the options that are available in the North
Bay Area. I have free basic cable already in my part of the house. My
landlady lives above me & I brought up the subject, she would prefer not to
have anymore holes drilled in the walls or any significant installation
done. I might be able to get away w/a small satellite dish if that's a good
way to go, though DSL would probably be the least intrusive way to go. I
have a good cellular plan, so I would prefer to have the option of getting
DSL w/o having a residential phone line.

Once I'm online & have decent bandwidth I'll setup to share some of the
signal to the area. Thanks...
