Hi Mike, You got the hostap driver from http://hostap.epitest.fi/releases/ right? It compiled and installed, yes? After installing hostap_cs you have to edit a file in /etc/pcmcia. Do a "cardctl ident" to get the manufacturer ID of the card, mine is: manfid: 0xd601, 0x0005 And the file I had to edit was /etc/pcmcia/wlan-ng.conf (because I have wlan-ng from http://www.linux-wlan.org/ but yours may be a different .conf file, dig around). Restart pcmcia services with /etc/rc.d/init.d/pcmcia restart. Insert the card. You should see "hostap_cs" when you do lsmod. >From there you do, "iwconfig wlan0 mode master" Are you in the Excelsior district? I can bike over and take a look if you want. Or drop it off at my office, you have the address. Let me know.
